The forest was a kind of calm that Ainsley was no longer used to. The chickadees and robins chirped merrily, the mulch underfoot crunched as she wondered through the woods, and the wind whispered through the rust and pumpkin leaves that graced the treetops. The heaven-bound trees seemed like archaic outposts, abandoned in the wars of old, now standing solitary and still.

The 25th LateralThe 25th lateral, away from the crowds,
Around the ends of the earth.
It feels the endless pull of the tide,
The ceaseless draw of the surf.

The moon seems much closer now,
Immaculate and eternal.
It razes the ground, tears at your throat,
Relentless and infernal.

There's no need to hear it, the roar of the sea,
You're deafened by the noise.
You can't imitate art, you aren't built for it,
You haven't got the poise.

At the 25th lateral, away from the crowds,
There's a shadow riding the tide.
While you're on display for the enamoured masses,
The shadow knows you lied.

Thanks dearest! Yeah, that is one advantage to living atop a hill like this...you get some awesome shots ^.^ The disadvantage? Having to walk up said hill to get home after work. It's a biiiig hill and I have no stamina

Yeah, that wouldn't work with me. If I were to imagine that, I'd instantly pick up the biggest stick I could find and assume my Chrouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon pose, and proceed to beat the crap out of...well...an imaginary dog...or you. That wouldn't be very nice.

Awww don't be too jealous...trust me, I was lucky to find a place where I live that's actually any kind of beautiful. Nova Scotia is gorgeous, but not the town I live in...suburbs ahoy >.<
