In caverns deep,
The woman sleeps,
Her eyes are closed to he that creeps.
Soft steps sound
Through hollow ground,
Each print a song of thoughts profound.
The echoes ring,
So promising
Of days renewed, mesmerizing.
Through countless nights,
No such delights,
She wept alone, each sob alight.
Her eyes are red,
From cruel tears shed,
Her lover gone, no joy ahead.
When she does wake,
A double take,
He comes, her heart starts to un-break.
Renewed hope,
With love elope,
No longer is there need to cope, yet
From her endless woes,
Though her happiness grows,
Scarlet eyes fill, with joy, she knows.
And though she cheers,
From those crying years,
She can only cry sweet bloody tears.
Very creepy yet beautiful at the same time.
But what I had in mind was that her ceaseless crying had caused her eyes to go red, as what happens to most people. When she sees her lover come back to her again, her eyes fill with tears of joy, but because her eyes are red from crying, the red seeps into the tears and ends up causing them to turn scarlet, even though she is overjoyed.
