Fire Lizard

Description

Rarely seen, except those who venture far into the hot, molten tops of the various volcanoes of the region, the Lizard's tough outer scales help it bear the terrible heat. Generally not harmful to those who encounter it, these creatures, as depicted here in this ancient drawing found in a volcanic cavern, shows the long claws and wings, suited for it's high, rocky climate.

Of course, this isn't actually ancient. I just finished colouring it this evening, in my continued self-education of the best ways to use PS for colouring. Next time, i would DEFINITELY use a thinner brush to draw in the mountain. But I got lazy, and had already done this over about twice, so I left it. I added the dark strokes filter to hide the imperfections of a sketchbook drawing picture taken with a cell phone camera...I did not have a scanner at the time I uploaded this. Still, I'm rather pleased with the outcome.

Dragon drawn in pencil. Mountain and colouring thanks to PS Elements 10.

Comments and critiques are always appreciated. Help me improve my PS skillz!

i love how styalistic this is, it reminds me of a painting you'd see in a mansion or something of a rock star/movie star. i see you tried adding some overlay textures aswell, those work best when blended on the bottom and then painted over with light opacity to help get rid of the repeat in the pattern same for any other texture you digitally put in.
